Every encounter with a wild creature is such a privilege and so precious, so fulfilling but at the same time so incredibly ephemeral. Their eyes convey the spirit and the soul of the land they live in. Through the lens of the camera, into my eyes and my heart. With every glance of a Lion you can breathe in every other Lion that has roamed that land before. Every time I encounter an Elephant I feel like the whole of Africa is right there in front of me, staring briefly at me and then moving on, untouched, unscarred, unforgettable. But every encounter always brings with it a sense of fleetingness, the sense that it could be the last one, and the urge to make it eternal through a photograph.
