Wide Satao roamed the wilderness of Tsavo East NP, often heading outside the park in search of food. He died in late 2022 of natural causes. He was probably in his late forties when he died. I came across him in 2019 for the first time, and again a few times through the years. He was a majestic bull with tusks spreading wide and forward. He was collared and tracked in his movement by the Tsavo Trust.
