Tim
Tim lived in Amboseli from January 1969 to early February 2020. He was one of Kenya’s greatest tuskers of all time. I first encountered him in February 2010 and followed him extensively through the years, until his death of old age. He was the dominant bull in Amboseli whenever he was in musth, generally between January and March, and was often seen in the park looking for females. He often got in trouble with the neighboring farmers and was speared twice. Sometime in early 2019 he was stuck in a swamp and was rescued thanks to a massive operation involving all the organizations active in conservation in Amboseli.
