On the afternoon of my first ever encounter with the Caracals, the young male cub suddenly decided to cautiously approach me. The typical curiosity of cats prevailed in him. In that moment I could hardly believe what was happening. The holy grail of African wildlife, the invisible phantom of the savannah, was so close to me I could hardly fit him in the frame.
