PORTRAIT OF ONETON
Chyulu Hills, 2022
Currently one of Africa’s greatest tuskers, OneTon lives in remote areas of southern Kenya and is seldom seen. This particular day I heard that he had been seen drinking at a particular waterhole in the middle of the day, so I rushed there as fast as I could. Just in time to see him emerge from the bushes on his way back up the hills. Being in the presence of such a magnificet tusker is probably my greatest thrill and joy in the wild.
