LIONS' KINGDOM
Serengeti, 2017
I had been visiting this area of the Serengeti for many years and I would invariably find a pride of Lion there. This particular year there were very few Lions, only a couple of females and some young and nomadic males passing through. Until one day in March I found two magnificent adult males, whom I immediately recognized as Bob and Ziggy, two magnificent males who had been roaming north of there for many years. It was fantastic to see them explore a new area for the first time. This image captures exactly that moment.
