GIRAFFE AND NEWBORN CALF
Masai Mara, 2014
Out on the open plains of the Maasai Mara one late morning I came across an unforgettable scene, the moment when a new life has just been born, a new journey begins. A mother Giraffe had just given birth to a calf who had not stood up yet. As I watched the baby learn to stand and eventually reach out for its mother’s breast to nurse, I could feel the privilege of being witness to such an intimate moment.
