Photographic Highlights
Immerse yourselves into the life of Africa’s most charismatic cats. We’ll try to capture images of Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Caracals and Servals, in dramatic lighting and conditions. We’ll also look for the holy grail of wildlife, the black Leopard in Laikipia and explore the semi-arid acacia woodlands and rocky outcrops in Samburu.
Photographic coaching
On this safari you’ll develop your photographic vision in the field, refine your craft, improve your photography and post-processing skills for color and black and white imagery, and hopefully end up with a strong portfolio of African wildlife images. Many of my past guests have been awarded with images taken on safari with me and some have become professional photographers themselves.
This safari will be a workshop in the field and will also include three online classes, one before and two after the end of the tour.
SAFARI LOCATIONS
LAIKIPIA WILDERNESS
Wild Dogs
A chance to see these rare and hard to find predators and follow them hunting
Melanistic Leopard
Black Leopards have been sometimes seen in this area, among their spotted relatives. We’ll try our luck both in night drives and daytime
MARA NORTH CONSERVANCY
Big Cats behaviour
The Mara ecosystem is one of Africa’s best places to photograph big cats behaviors in the glorious setting of the iconic golden plains. Black maned Lions, Leopards active throughout the day, Cheetahs racing across the savannah.
And don’t forget the small cats as well. Servals in particular are often seen here and many of them are quite tame. All other wildlife also abounds here.
SAMBURU NR
Semi-arid heaven for predators
Among the unique ecosytem of Northern Kenya with its dry-habitat specific creatures, we’ll patrol the rivers and rocky outcrops looking for signs of the abundant Leopards’, Cheetahs’ and Lions’ populations. The setting is extraordinary here as are the Elephants crossing the river
