Not to be confused with the great bull tusker Irima 2, Irima is a stunning female tusker with tusks of very similar shape to those of the late super tusker female Dida. When I came across Irima on the day of my birthday in August 2024 in Tsavo East, I had the feeling of being in the presence of a unique individual who will certainly follow in the footsteps of Dida and Mudanda as one of Africa’s greatest female tuskers of all time.
