When I started working on my latest book “Walk the Earth”, entirely dedicated to Elephants, I asked myself whether to do it fully in black and white. But after spending so much time in the wilderness of Tsavo to look for the great tuskers, I fell more and more in love with the red color of the earth in that part of Africa. The Elephants also pick up those red/brown tones when they dust-bathe or wallow in the mud, so I thought that I needed to bring those colors into the book. And I am very happy I did.
