An extraordinary journey on both the south and north banks of the mighty Lower Zambezi river, looking for evocative images of wildlife in magnificent woodlands. We’ll start with five nights in Mana Pools in Zimbabwe, with its unique blue light invading the forest, walking among Elephants and Lions. We’ll then transfer to Zambia for five nights in Lower Zambezi NP, with great opportunities to see Leopards, Lions, Wild Dogs and Elephants in stunning habitats.
Our newest safari to the heart of the mighty Zambezi valley, on the opposite bank from the beautiful Mana Pools… Lower Zambezi is a heaven for wildlife and for predators in particular, all in a stunning setting of lush channels enchanted woodlands of Albida Faidherbia. After five nigths in two different location shere we’ll fly to valley of the Leopards, and of other predators as well, the stunning South Luangwa NP. I still remember a documentary I saw when I was a child about this magic place… we’ll follow Leopards, Lions and Wild dogs in the glorious morning and afternoon light…
An extraordinary journey on the trails of the last great tuskers in the places where most of the images in my latest book “Walk the Earth” have been taken. From the dusty open plains of Amboseli, watching lines of Elephants walking across scorched land, to the endless wilderness of Tsavo with its population of red elephants and great tuskers. We’ll finish at Ithumba, the Sheldrick’s reintegration center where the orphans are reintroduced into the wild. On the way between Amboseli and Tsavo we’ll spend a couple of days in the beautiful Lumo conservancy, where we’ll wait in a ground-level photographic hide for Elephants to come to drink at a waterhole. Only for Elephant lovers! But we’ll also see a wide range of other wildlife on the way, including big cats.
A full immersion in the mighty Serengeti NP at the time when the great migration traverses the northern reaches of the ecosystem. We’ll sleep in two different areas, one being a super quiet and exclusive valley filled with stunning kopjes and beautiful woodlands, where Lions and other wildlife abound. The second being immediately south of the Mara river, in the Tanzania section. Here we’ll have great chances to see stunning river crossings by the huge herds of Wildebeests and the predators attracted by the migration. In particular, there are some beautiful rocky outcrops where Leopards often take refuge with their cubs.
This journey brings together some of the most iconic locations and subjects in Africa, for extraordinary wildlife photography opportunities. A chance to search for the black Leopards of Laikipia, the great tuskers of Amboseli at a time of high social activity in the marshes, and the stunning kopjes in the southern Serengeti from a prime and exclusive location. Many of my favorite subjects are here, great for black and white photography if that’s your style, but also for color imagery, with the magnificent vibrant colors skies of the rainy season. All at the quietest time in terms of visitors.
Perfectly timed to greet the newborn baby Wildebeests commencing their journey of life here in the short grass plains of the Serengeti… my favorite location to photograph big and small cats... driving through endless savannahs and among stunning rocky outcrops with Lions looking down from the top… remote and quiet locations with very few other vehicles… the chance for timeless and iconic images.
An extraordinary journey into some of Kenya’s most unique, diverse and fascinating photographic locations. We’ll start from the magnificence of lake Magadi with its stunning colors and Flamingos from the air, and an immersion into the African night at a fantastic photographic hide at ground level near a waterhole. We’ll continue searching the rocky outcrops and dry bushes of Laikipia for Africa’s most rare and charismatic cat, the magnificent black Leopard, and we’ll finish in the wide open plains of the Mara ecosystem away from the crowds, in a private conservancy so rich in wildlife and big cats in particular. All with charter flights between locations to maximize your time in the wild!
