Photographic Highlights

An entire safari dedicated to Elephants’ photography in different habitats. From the dense bushes of Ithumba to the open plains of Tsavo East and Amboseli NP with Mt Kilimanjaro in the background. We’ll do our best to find some of the great tuskers that inhabit these areas and to photograph Elephants’ behaviour in an artistic way.

Photographic coaching

Being focused on a specific subject is one of the secrets for achieving great wildlife images. Elephants offer great opportunities to study the impact of different choices in terms of distance, light, angle of shooting, composition. The trip will be a perfect way to practice your skills, enhance your vision and improve your post-production craft both in color and black and white.

SAFARI LOCATIONS

ITHUMBA

Among the Elephants

Delve into the life of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant reintegration unit. You’ll be surrounded by young Elephants who are learning the ways of the wild after having grown up as orphans by the trust. A totally unique and unforgettable experience

A remote wilderness

Explore one of Africa’s last forgotten wilderness. The woodlands here are teeming with Elephants but also predators such as Leopards or Wild Dogs can be seen. Spending time at the waterholes waiting for the Elephants to emerge in the late afternoon is a great thrill.

TSAVO EAST NP

Red Elephants

Large herds of red Elephants crossing the savannah and gathering at the waterholes. The endless wild spaces awaits you.

Great tuskers heaven

Tsavo is probably the greatest stronghold for the gene of long tusked Elephants. Both cows and bulls can be found with tusks scratching the ground. Seeing them is not easy but is an extremely thrilling search.

AMBOSELI

Elephants’ behavior

We’ll spend a long time with Elephants, photographing their daily activities, social interactions and behaviours. Their lives will unfold before our eyes and cameras, with the amazing backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro, the dry lake and the lush marshes

Lines of Elephants across the plains

As the Elephants traverse long stretches of bare soil between feeding grounds and the water they form long lines of sometimes up to 70 individuals, a breath-taking sight to see and photograph in this most unique and particularly photogenic habitat.
