Born in 1991 from a female known as Mabel, Michael is quickly becoming one of Amboseli’s biggest tuskers, despite being still very young. He generally spends time in the core of the park when in musth, while he disappears for the rest of the year. Though he is a relaxed Elephant, Michael shows signs of tension when approaching vehicles, such as twirling his trunk or raising his head. His tusks point straight to the ground and he is impressive when seen from the front. Note the v-shaped notch on his left ear.
