Esau is one of Amboseli’s younger tuskers. Born in 1990 to a female called Ella, is nephew to Echo, the famous matriarch whose story has been featured in many documentaries. He is a very relaxed bull and is often seen in the park even when not in musth. In early 2024 he was fitted with a collar to keep track of his movements, especially as he is one of the elephants who ventures into Tanzania, where trophy hunting is a challenge.
