Looking into the eyes of an animal you can see so much curiosity, determination, resilience, attention. So much life. I remember the young Caracal coming close to look at me with his big wide open eyes, and his mother in the back with her looks so hauntingly beautiful and focused. Or Tim, the giant Elephant from Amboseli, ambling slowly next to me with his eyes full of wisdom, calm, knowledge, strength. The feelings and memories of such close encounters are probably what I treasure the most from my days in the wild. This is what I aim to capture in this collection of black and white images. And the feeling of being surrounded by the endless wild spaces of Africa and its magnificent creatures in stunning backdrops and light coming through the sky in rays.
